Alongside the bike path that bordered Canal Du Midi we happened upon this hanging anchor. Clearly it was used for decoration rathter than to hold a boat in place.

During the 2008 Summer Sailstice on Treasure Island, the wharf was open to the public. An anchor was found set into a wooden box along the wharf. Both the wooden box and the steel anchor appeared rusted.

The tour of Anacapa Island took place on a modest sized steel-hulled boat. At the bow of the boat a CQR Plow anchor hung in its bracket, attached to its rode, and ready should it be needed.

The marina in Saint-Valery, France was lined along shore by a series of cinder-block repair shops. Behind one such shop we found a pile of old anchors.
