The Tree Had Its Own Canopy

Notice how the leaves of this Apocynaceae Jess, "Cachito", tree are all clustered at the top. This is clearly a tropical forest tree with a canopy of it own to maximize sunlight that shined mostly from above.

Here, a second example of this tree grew in a clearing surrounded by benches.

This tree produces smallish, bright yellow flowers that bloom above the canopy. Here were three buds, one of which was about to flower.
