Upon entry to the park we first happened upon a cluster of blooms at the end of a low branch.
There must have been at least dozen bees busily gathering nectar. We were told they were killer bees,
but they seemed benign.
At the end of a short pathway in was a Bienvenidos (Welcome) sign. Madeleine Lemire had walked
ahead and was already heading off to the left.
The grounds also had a restaurant and public restrooms. Here was bicycle parking with
a motorcycle parked there too.
Alongside the trail we found bright yellow flowers in bloom. Here was one of those flowers
viewed close up.
Here was another view of those same flowers but seen from a bit further back.
Pink leaves found on a plant alongside the trail. From a distance, these looked like flowers.

Young lechee found growing on a large plant at the edge of
a field of fruit trees.
A young pineapple growing in the center of a pineapple plant.
One pineapple per plant, where they grow from a tiny one like this
(nor more than five centimeters tall).
Fruit growing on a tree was a cross between an orange and a sweet lime.
An mangrove cuckoo was perched in a bare tree. Its pose echoed that of the way the tree leaned.
A field of planted trees showed the regularity of a European-style garden.
The sun shining through the leaves found in the garden resulted in
this shot.
Green fruit grew close to the stem of this plant. Aerial roots created the appearance of a jail.
Beyond the line of trees was a huge pasture with cattle grazing.
A truck filled with hay passed us on our way back from the pasture.
It was on its way to the cattle. It turned out we were on our way toward pigs.
Two small pigs had crossed the road expecting to be rewarded with food.

A video in which the guide demonstrates the Nicaraguan way of calling pigs.

On our way out of the park we saw two inca doves perched on a branch. They were busily preening themselves
and appeared unaware of our passage.
