Peach De Resistance, Artists: Portal Arts Collective, At The 50th Annual Oregon Country Fair, Veneta, Oregon
The sign for this art piece was on the ground next to its cloth covered base.
This art piece was painted a peach color, but was shaped more like an egg. It was composed of pieces of metal and plastic assembled into
this spectacular work of art.
In the top of this art piece were the leafs and stem that would normally appear atop a freshly picked peach.
Buttons were scattered over the base of this art piece. Most of the buttons were faces of people.
Inside were plastic and metal objects. Clearly visible was a trumpet and a plastic butterfly.
A Volkswagen logo covered a hole and was decorated to become part of the art effect of the entire peach.
Buttons decorated the side of the peach as well as its base. These buttons carried images of folks that may have been fair attendees.
Deep down inside the peach were a complex arrangement of gears and an old clock.
Higher inside the peach were two concentric metal pieces, and a dented trumpet.
This "Peach De Resistance" art piece was a magnet for fair attendees. They were drawn to it like moths to a flame, but with a more rewarding
result.
