Closet Duck Fan, Ducks On Parade, As Found Art In Eugene, Oregon
The duck was stood in a corner of the airport, at the top of an escalator and with a view of the runways.
A plaque on a stand near the feet of the duck read:
The right side of Closet Duck Fan's head illustrated dotted lines around his mouth. These were folding lines.
The idea is that this duck could be created when folded from flat paper.
A close up shot of the Closet Duck Fan's chest. Note he piece of wood and cloth are held by the Beaver paws. The feathers are pinned, taped and tied on.
The idea is that this is a Beaver (the Ducks local rival) disguised as a duck. Thus "Closet Duck Fan"
A view of the Closet Duck Fan's lower body illustrated how feathers were attached with pieces of tape. Also note, that the shield is that of the University of Oregon (whose mascot is a duck).
A close up shot of the left side of Closet Duck Fan's face. Notice rope holding the bill in place and the little Beaver ears added by the artist.
The back side of Closet Duck Fan shows white feathers taped, held with a clothes pin, and safety pinned over his brown fur.
The lower back of Closet Duck Fan shows more tape and a piece folded and taped to disguise its tail.
A folder paper tail was taped to the butt of Closet Duck Fan.
